Cup exit wraps up Hollinwood’s season

RUGBY: THE curtain came down on Hollinwood RL’s Pennine League season with a 28-8 defeat at home to Crofton Cougars in round two of the Supplementary Cup.
Hollinwood matched the visitors, who are in third place in Division Five, early on but, carrying several injuries, they were always up against it.
The scoreline did not reflect the amount of effort the Hollinwood players put in.
Paul Johnson scored the hosts’ first try and Matty McCullough dived in at the corner after a 45-yard sprint.
Hollinwood intend to train during the summer and talks are already under way about a match between past and present players. For more details, call Fred on 0778646 8833.
