Pointed weekend for Mossley
Date published: 18 March 2014
NON-LEAGUE FOOTBALL: MOSSLEY returned from Merseyside with a hard-earned point as they drew their Evo-Stik Division One North clash 1-1 at Cammell Laird.
Jamie Henders fired the hosts into the lead shortly before the half-hour mark, but within two minutes the Lilywhites were awarded a penalty-kick, tucked away by leading scorer Dougie Carroll.
The visitors will have been satisfied with a point as they edged themselves 13 points clear of the relegation zone.
Mossley return to league action next action next Saturday when they play host to Harrogate Railway Athletic.
BOTH CHADDERTON and OLDHAM BORO were held to home draws in their North-West Counties League First Division fixtures.
Chaddy, who are now without a win in six games, drew 2-2 against Widnes Vikings after tossing away a two-goal half-time lead.
Boro had to come from behind to draw 1-1 with Eccleshall.
Both teams are at home again next weekend in their next scheduled fixtures, against Holker Old Boys and AFC Darwen respectively.
