Cup joy as Deaf ‘A’ book place in final

TABLE TENNIS: DIVISION Two basement boys Deaf ‘A’ are finishing the Oldham and District Table Tennis League season with a flourish.
They produced another excellent performance in the Handicap Cup. Armed with a 57 point start against Unison ‘A’, they gained another nine to win by 66 points.
In-form Dave Varney starred, gaining 19 points, while Andy Hey was the best player for Unison, picking up four points.
Grotton ‘A’ are also showing improved form. They beat Honeywell ‘D’ by 28 points having awarded them a 23 points start.
Ryan Conway gained 35 points and Dave Morris 18 points, while Lionel Royle lost only three points on the night for the victors. Steve Collins was Honeywell’s best player, dropping just a point.
Deaf ‘A’ will meet Grotton ‘A’ in the final in the week from April 15.
