GOLF:
GOLFER Jennifer Fallows will take a wealth of playing and administrative experience into her new role as captain of the Lancashire Ladies’ County Golf Association.
Fallows began her playing career in 1966 as a teenager, taken by her aunt to Manchester Golf Club - where she became a member two years later.
In 1973 Jennifer married and took a break from golf to raise her daughters, but soon returned to the game.
“I enjoyed membership at Springfield Park, Tunshill, Stamford, Clitheroe and Saddleworth, before returning to Manchester in 1990,” she revealed.
Jennifer has held a wide variety of roles at the Manchester club, and the former treasurer for Lancashire Vets and assistant secretary for the LLCGA is now to be captain for the coming year.
“I have a playing handicap of six - but expect it may be difficult to keep that in the coming year as I will probably be spending more time watching golf than playing it,” she said.
