RUGBY UNION:
Oldham RUFC 1sts 36, Hutton 1sts 6
CHRIS Pickles, who made his debut as a young back row forward in 1983, rolled back the years at Manor Park on Saturday.
The Oldham RU stalwart pulled on a first-team shirt once again so he could play alongside his debut-making son, Ryan, who went on to give a man-of-the-match performance.
In over 50 minutes on the pitch, Pickles snr showed his class and experience, while Ryan impressed everyone with his excellent breaks and awesome tackling.
As far as the match was concerned, Oldham were taking on a team doomed to relegation after having points deducted at the start of the season.
But Hutton always provide stiff opposition and Oldham found this North Lancashire Division One fixture tough going until they assumed command in the second half.
