RUGBY:
THE form book was thrown out of the window as Saddleworth Rangers, missing five players from the previous week, saw their unbeaten record ruined by lowly Myton Warriors.
Rangers wanted a third win from four National Conference League Division One fixtures — the other game was drawn — while the hosts were still without a point.
But it was Myton celebrating at the final whistle after registering a 26-0 victory.
Rangers had scored 26 points in each of their previous four matches.
Lee James (two), Ash James and Kris Walker touched down for the home side, while Ash James also kicked five goals. Two late converted tries came when Rangers had two players in the sin bin.
WATERHEAD were unable to follow-up a first win of the campaign in NCL Division Two as they slumped 36-10 at Bradford Dudley Hill.
Chris Hough’s men were up against it at the interval — they trailed 22-10 — and were unable to register a point in the second half.
Hough scored Waterhead’s two tries and Jamie Mayall added a conversion.
Anthony Lawton, Kyle Bateman, Kyle Carter, Alex Dickinson, Aiden Batey, Gavin Mezals and Simon Sewell went in for Dudley Hill, with the latter kicking four goals.
