FORMER British Masters champion Darren Stubbs is hoping his recently-opened gym will go from strength to strength now it has been officially recognised by the Amateur Boxing Association.
Stubby’s Shaw and Royton ABC’s affiliation by the ABA means registered fighters can enter official amateur competitions and tournaments.
Head coach Stubbs (42) said: “This is great news for the club. It’s given everyone involved a lift.
“We’ve got some really promising boxers training with us and we can now start working towards some fights.
“There’s some really promising kids training with us, including two twins – Kyle and Jamie Jackson.
“Hopefully a lot of our youngsters will go on and achieve their potential.”
