SNOOKER:
WITH only three sets of fixtures remaining in the Oldham Amateur League, the race for the snooker title could hardly be closer.
Only two points separate the North Chadderton teams, the ‘A’ side holding sway over their ‘B’ counterparts.
In the latest matches, North ‘A’ beat third-placed Three Cs ‘A’ 4-2, while North ‘B’ returned the same scoreline at Stanley Road ‘B’.
Martin Kennedy’s break of 46 for the visitors was the highlight of the latter match.
With Three Cs ‘A’ losing, Blue Club ‘A’ had the chance to go third, but they went down 4-2 at basement club Three Cs ‘B’.
The home side were 3-0 up before Reece Kershaw’s break of 52 in the fourth frame for Blue ‘A’ reduced the damage.
