Josh Cooper: great form
SNOOKER:
OLDHAM Snooker Academy rising star Josh Cooper continued his excellent form with victory in the latest English Amateur Snooker and Billiards Association junior event in Leeds.
The competition also saw Oldham represented by Omar Ahmed, Ryan Davies and Saiful Amin.
Cooper, who won the previous ranking event at his home club, lost only three frames in eight matches on the way to victory.
He beat close rival Josh Thomond (Eccles) in the quarter-finals, before defeating Oliver Mulcahy in the semi-finals and John Morrell in the final.
Victory has elevated Josh to fourth in the rankings; if he can finish in the top two he will qualify for the Premier Junior Tour.
