A SPIRITED performance from Carrion Crow earned them a share of the spoils against promotion-chasing Oldham GPO in David Giblin Division One of the Midas Plumbing and Heating Oldham Sunday League.
And while Crow ended their season on a high, GPO face a nervy finish, still needing a point at Springhead Libs ‘A’ to secure promotion to the top flight.
Crow certainly looked like a promotion side in the first 45 minutes on a miserable and wet afternoon at Snipe Clough.
They took the lead after 14 minutes when, following a Daniel Fitzhugh flag-kick, Adam Biggins nodded the ball down for Jamie Shaw to poke home from three yards.
It was 2-0 close to the half-hour mark when Tony Lloyd showed coolness to steer the ball home from six yards.
But if GPO needed any encouragement going into Sunday’s season finale, it came in the second half when first Andrew Conroy after 52 minutes and then Mike King, 14 minutes later, rescued a crucial point for their side.
