RUGBY: AFTER losing by a point to Waterhead in the final 12 months ago, Rochdale Mayfield made sure of victory in the Oldham Amateur Rugby League’s Standard Cup final with a 36-14 success over Oldham St Anne’s.
Mayfield, from National Conference League Division One, scored seven tries to Saints’ three at Manor Park, the home of Oldham Rugby Union Club.
And in Joe Quanci, Mayfield boasted the Ben Powell Trophy winner for the most outstanding player of the match.
