CRICKET: DELPH secured two wins from two games during their opening weekend of action.
In their Drakes Huddersfield League Premiership clash at Hoylandswaine, Delph’s Lancashire ace Arron Lilley starred with bat and ball.
After his four for 65 return had helped reduce Hoylandswaine to 247 for eight, Lilley then smashed a breath-taking 139 not out from just 74 balls to help Delph to a superb six-wicket victory.
Grant Jones’s men then coasted to victory at Clayton West in the first round of the Heavy Woollen Cup.
Replying to the hosts’ 95 all out, Delph eased to victory for the loss of just two wickets.
New signing Greg Buckley scored 50 in both matches.
