Moorside on a mission

CRICKET: AFTER a disappointing start in comprehensive defeat by Stayley, Moorside go in search of a first Saddleworth and District Cricket League win of the season tomorrow.
Standing in their way are visitors Heyside, who did just enough to overcome Droylsden on opening day.
Heyside were then hammered by Denton West in the annual challenge match between the champions of the Saddleworth and Lancashire County leagues for the John Hughes Trophy.
With skippers present and past, Danny Anchor and Lloyd Kingston respectively, back in the fold as well as seamer Glen McFadyean, Moorside will be a different proposition.
Heyside, for their part, will be looking to lay down an early marker against one of their rivals for top spot.
It is the first double-header weekend of the season, and Moorside make their way to Shaw on Sunday, with the hosts buoyed by the arrival of professional Ather Abid.
Unbeaten new club Whalley Range go to Austerlands tomorrow and entertain Saddleworth on Sunday.
