RUGBY: HUDDERSFIELD have rewarded former Saddleworth Rangers and Waterhead youth prospect Josh Johnson with a contract extension that will keep him at the John Smith’s Stadium until the end of the 2016 season.
The academy product (20) made his Giants debut 12 months ago and has appeared in four of their last Super League matches.
Huddersfield coach Paul Anderson said: “Josh is deserving of a longer opportunity at the club and he is well aware of what he needs to do to keep improving as a professional.”
Johnson said: “My aim at the start of the year was to get an early extension to my contract and obviously I am pleased that it’s sorted out. I have a great chance here to become a fully–fledged Super League player.”
