CRICKET: WOODHOUSES will hope to build on their superb opening-day win as they face a Greene King Lancashire County Cricket League double-header.
’Houses thumped Prestwich in their 2014 curtain-raiser, with Josh Butler bagging a superb nine-wicket haul.
But a couple of potentially tough tests beckon this weekend. Tomorrow Woodhouses travel to a Woodbank side who beat reigning champions Denton West in their opening fixture.
On Sunday Glossop arrive at Medlock Road to do battle. The High Peak outfit bowled Denton out for a measly 66 in their first game. Both matches start at 1pm.
DELPH are also in action twice this weekend. Grant Jones’s mid-table side travel to Slaithwaite tomorrow for their latest Drakes Huddersfield League Premiership fixture.
On Sunday Delph welcome Broad Oak for a Sykes Cup first-round clash. Delph won the trophy in 2012, while Broad Oak have made a terrific start to the Huddersfield League Championship campaign as they top the table.
Delph start at 1.30pm at Slaithwaite, and the slightly earlier time of 1pm against Broad Oak.
