CRICKET: Reigning champions Heyside and Tanner Cup heroes Uppermill lock horns in the Saddleworth and District Cricket League on Sunday
Both teams are expected to challenge for honours and boast near identical records after three rounds of matches.
After an opening-day loss at Whalley Range, Dave Roberts’ Uppermill side have really hit their straps with big wins over Wythenshawe and Glodwick.
Heyside beat a very capable Droylsden team first up, but they succumbed to Moorside last Saturday. But Ryan Barnes’ men ended the weekend on a positive note with victory over Friarmere.
Shadley van Schalkwyk, Heyside’s new paid man, has been among wickets in debut season in the competition.
The South African has bagged 10 in three games, and will now be looking to make an impression with the bat after two double-figure scores last weekend.
It is another double-header weekend for clubs as the season continues apace.
