Austin shines in Crompton win

CROMPTON and Royton returned to winning ways in the Lake Garage CLL on Saturday.
The former won a thrilling game against Unsworth in the Championship at Glebe Street.
Mel Austin took five for 35 as the visitors were bowled out for 147, Abid Faizal hitting 52.
Crompton made heavy weather of their task, losing nine wickets before limping over the finishing line.
Royton had a superb win at Heywood in the Premier Division.
They bowled out their hosts for 105 and though there were a few jitters in reply, Denny Hulme’s men had three wickets to spare in reaching their target.
Werneth spurned a winning chance in their Premier Division fixture at Rochdale.
Rashid Khan took five for 40 as Rochdale were skittled for 117, but Werneth were bowled out seven runs shy of their hosts' tally. Scott Butterworth took four for 57.
Oldham are still without a win in the Championship after losing at home to Ashton.
Moeed Sayeed collected five for 34 as Oldham were dismissed for 149 before Richard Taylor’s 65 in a reply of 150 for four proved decisive.
