FOOTBALL: FITTON Hill Rangers were in mean mood last night as they stormed to a 6-0 victory against Limeside King George in the Midas Plumbing and Heating Oldham Sunday League Challenge Cup final.
Rangers, who finished two places below King George in the final table, failed to let the disappointment of the late venue switch from Boundary Park to Chadderton FC affect them as they roared to a convincing win.
Callum Franklin and Aaron Murdoch scored two goals apiece, while Calvin Buckley and Paul Badby were also on target.
Rangers’ influential skipper Ian Knapman was the man-of-the-match.
On Sunday, Chadderton’s stadium on Broadway is again the venue for the two more Sunday League finals. The Division Three Shield showpiece between High Crompton Victoria and Blue Club kicks-off at 11.30am, then the Division Two Shield final between Oldham Tigers and White Hart follows at 2pm.
