RUGBY:
FORMER Saddleworth Rangers ace Jack Johnson has been named in the 20-man England Academy squad which will face France in a test match in Castleford tomorrow (6.30pm kick-off).
It’s the first Academy call-up for Johnson, who plays for Super League giants Warrington Wolves.
England coach John Winder, who oversaw two weekend training camps in Sheffield with his initial 36-man squad in preparation for the Test, said he had faced some tough decisions in selecting the best 20 players.
“It was tough, which is a great reflection on the depth of talent we have in this country,” said Winder
