ANGLING: THE Medlock Bridge AC open match fished on the Park Lake saw in-form Mick Tighe win with his 16lb net including some decent bream to 2lb 8oz.
Some chub and plenty of bits also fell to pellet and maggot at 12 metres as he drew peg 23.
Peter Hill was second with his pole and maggots working well for lots of small skimmers, a good tench, a 3lb bream taken on maggot from his peg 24a, though he must have rued losing a big tench as he tipped 13lb 8oz onto the scales.
ORGANISER Dave Machin has an enviable record on Tanner’s Dam with too many wins to count.
He added another one in the latest of the Tuesday evening matches. Drawn on peg 16, Machin fished meat and pellet for eight carp together with skimmers weighing 34lb 12oz. That was more than 10lb in front of the next-best Gideon Orr with his 24lb 4oz total that included half-a-dozen carp.
PETE Mottram took first place in the latest Todmorden AS members match fished on a cool, wet and windy Townhouse Fishery.
His pole and worm approach netted 50lb of mostly carp. Second best on the day was Chris Oliver with his 41lb of carp falling to the tip and pellet.
MICK Diskin took first place in the Twingates OAPs match on the club water with a mixed bag weighing 13lb 1oz falling to pole and pellet. Rod Illing was second and again it was a mixed bag weighing 12lb 9oz.
THE Shaw Road Disaster Squad travelled to Somerset to enjoy some of the fish-filled venues there.
Stuart Holmes (Tight Lines, Shaw) showed the locals a thing or two as he took first place in the Trinity Water open match with an all-carp net that weighed 104lb 8oz and was taken on the pole and pellet.
Mark Brosgrove was second with 90lb 4oz.
