THERE was league and cup disappointment for Woodhouses as yesterday the Medlock Road outfit crashed out of the Greene King Lancashire County League Walkden Cup at the first hurdle.
Visitors Dukinfield took first knock and scored 201 all out. But Woodhouses fell agonisingly just three runs short in their victory charge, being bowled out for 198 as Scott Webb scored 50.
’Houses slipped to a four-wicket defeat in the league at Denton on Saturday. Batting first, the visitors totalled 155 all out as Denton’s Kevin Taylor returned super bowling figures of seven for 51.
Denton won thanks to a 156 for six reply.
AN impressive personal performance from Jamshad Ahmad wasn’t enough to secure Delph a positive result at Golcar in the Drakes Huddersfield League Premiership.
The hosts batted first, and despite four for 56 from Ahmad and Craig Fletcher’s three for 86 return, Golcar racked up a very defendable total of 231 for nine.
Ahmad scored 72 in Delph’s reply, but they fell short in their victory chase, closing their innings on 194 for nine.
