Delph’s double mission
Date published: 23 May 2014
CRICKET: DELPH could do with a tonic this weekend as they gear up for two important Drakes Huddersfield League Premiership fixtures.
Tomorrow, Grant Jones’s men travel to fellow mid-table outfit Meltham. That will be followed by a tasty-looking home clash against third-placed Honley on Monday.
Back-to-back wins would help propel Delph towards the title-chasing pack following a stuttering start to the 2014 campaign. Both matches start at 1.30pm.
WOODHOUSES have also endured a slightly disappointing start to their season in the Greene King Lancashire County League.
They travel to Stand tomorrow, where it will be a clash between the third-bottom and second-bottom sides in the early-season standings.
’Houses will be keen to bounce back from last weekend’s double blow, when they lost to Denton in the league and were dumped out of the Walkden Cup at the first hurdle by Dukinfield. The match at Stand gets under way at 1pm.
