New dates sought for rain-hit games

CRICKET: THERE was no action in the Lake Garage CLL at the weekend as the constant downpours rendered grounds unplayable.
League secretary Alan Wright said: “The two spare dates in September have already been allocated following the wash-out of a couple of weeks ago, so I am not sure yet what we we can do about this weekend’s fixtures."
Not A ball was bowled in either division of the Saddleworth and District League on Saturday due to the incessant rain.
Woodhouses’ Greene King Lancashire County League fixture at Stand was also washed out, as was Delph’s scheduled trip to Meltham in the Drakes Huddersfield League Premiership.
Delph were set to host third-placed Honley today (1.30pm start).
