BOWLS:
GARY Ellis continued his fine start to the bowling season with victory in the Fred Hulme Memorial Trophy at Houldsworth WMC.
The Nimble Nook and Tonge star defeated his good friend, Paul Dudley, 21-16 in the final after recording a 21-12 semi-final verdict against Gareth Gwilliam.
Dudley defeated John Hignett 21-14 in his semi-final.
