GOLF:
A GROUP of local golfers enjoyed a fabulous trip to the Algarve – and produced hole-in-one fireworks.
They split into two groups of 12 players and on the first two days took on the magnificent Vale De Lobo courses.
On day one, the first group played the Royal course and on the 155-yard par-three seventh hole Steve Ward from North Manchester set up an evening of celebration by holing his tee shot.
The second group played the Royal course on day two - and unbelievably, Grahame Holt – an 11-handicapper from Werneth – holed his tee shot for a second ace.
WERNETH will host the Thwaites Brewery Open next Wednesday, when with pairings in the four-ball better-ball Stableford event will cost only £6. Contact professional James Matterson (0161 628 7136) for 8am-3pm tee times.
