Darren set for title defence

BOWLS:  

DARREN Griffiths begins the defence of his Green Final Bowling Handicap title on Friday.

Griffiths is in action at Royton Cricket Club and, as defending champion, has to concede two and more start to the opposition, which includes 1987 and 1991 champion Neil Armstrong (St Pauls).

Also among the Royton contenders is former competition runner-up Peter Fielding.

Practice at all four venues is from 6.30pm, with start and strike-out at 7pm.
