THE Saddleworth and District Cricket League’s under-17s competition has been plagued by poor weather.
Of the 16 scheduled fixtures so far this season, only three have been completed.
Only one contest survived the wet conditions in the latest round. Batting first, Micklehurst made 98 for eight, which included a fine unbeaten 32 from Kyle McQuillon.
In reply, Wythenshawe were restricted to 58 for nine.
OLDHAM under-15s are targeting back-to-back wins in the Lancashire Schools’ Merit League when they visit Bolton on Friday. The town team was in top form in its opening league game, recording a convincing 10-wicket victory against Trafford.
Bolton, always strong contenders for the title, enjoyed a comfortable five-wicket triumph in the opening match against Bury.
