THE Lake Garage CLL bowed out of the Readers Inter-League Competition when they lost by six wickets at home to the Lancashire County League yesterday.

The match was switched from Rochdale's Redbrook ground to the Paddock, Royton, as the original hosts reported their surface unfit following the downpours of Saturday.

It was the LCL who adapted best to conditions.

Despite 32 from Rochdale's Shane Wornes and 29 by Walsden's James Rawlinson, the CLL were bowled out for 141.

And though Radcliffe's Steve Cheetham took three for 23, the LCL eased to victory on 142 for four.

On a miserable day for the CLL, the colts were robbed of victory by rain.

After bowling out the Liverpool Competition for just 59 at Burscough CC, the CLL were 17 without loss when rain brought an abrupt end to play and the match declared a draw.
