Crompton bag last-eight spot

CROMPTON reached the quarter-finals of the John Willie Lees Twenty20 Competition with a battling 11-run victory over Milnrow at Glebe Street.
Josh Tolley hit 34 as Crompton made 103 for nine, but that ordinary target proved too much for the visitors who were restricted to 92 for eight.
Royton are safely through to the last eight after an impressive 55-runs victory at home to Oldham.
Professional Pieter Malan hit 91 as the hosts rattled up 143 for four, then Oldham were restricted to 88 for nine.
Werneth cruised to a first victory of the season at Ashton, who batted first and were restricted to 91 for seven.
The visitors raced to their target for the loss of only one wicket. Professional Mohammed Zaman Khan struck 51 not out and Ali Muzaffer an undefeated 33.
