WRAPPED UP: Waterhead’s Nick Hackman is forced to a halt by three Recs tacklers.
RUGBY:
WATERHEAD suffered a 38-12 home reverse against Pilkington Recs in Division Two.
Though Jack Pemberton excelled at hooker for Chris Hough’s side, they were up against it from the off when Greg Smith touched down for a try which was goaled by Danny Lynch after five minutes.
Matthew Holland replied in kind for the Peach Road outfit, with a try converted by Jamie Mayall.
But three more first-half tries followed for Recs, scored by Danny Filson, Dave Flynn and Ryan Hillard, with Danny Lynch adding a goal for a 20-6 lead at the interval.
Andy Gorey’s try which Mayall converted restored hope five minutes into the second period, only for Filson, Greg Smith and Phil Henry to all later cross with Lynch kicking successfully on three further occasions.
