DELPH will be keen to shake off the disappointment of back-to-back defeats in two home games this weekend.
Tomorrow Grant Jones’s men – fifth in the Drakes Huddersfield League Premiership standings –
welcome Barkisland (1.30pm), a team a couple of places behind Delph in the table.
Delph lost a close game to second-placed Shepley last weekend, before going down to Slaithwaite in their opening Twenty20 Trophy group clash on Tuesday.
On Sunday, Delph host Pudsey Congs in the quarter-finals of the Heavy Woollen Cup. Jones will be confident of a last-four place as Congs are currently struggling at the bottom of the Bradford League Division One table.
WOODHOUSES – lifted by a nine-wicket win in the Greene King Lancashire County League against Cheetham Hill last time out – travel to struggling Thornham tomorrow (1pm start).
Josh Butler bagged eight wickets against Cheetham Hill and will be hopeful of extending that good form against a Thornham side who were thumped by Denton West last weekend.
