Smethurst in Wimbledon exit

TENNIS: FAILSWORTH’S Dan Smethurst, beaten in the first round of the Wimbledon men’s singles by John Isner, is also out of the doubles.
Smethurst teamed up with fellow Briton Edward Corrie, but lost 6-4 7-6 (7-4) 7-6 (7-2) to Johan Brunstrom (Sweden) and Frederik Nielsen (Denmark).
