OLDHAM favourite Nicola White is in the 18-strong England women’s squad which will compete at the Investec London Cup, which gets under way tomorrow at the Queen Elizabeth Olympic Park.

The four-team hockey tournament — which closes with finals day on Sunday — sees East Grinstead’s Kirsty Mackay and Surbiton’s Sarah Haycroft added to the 16 players named last week in the Commonwealth Games squad.

Leicester forward White’s England team will face Wales, South Africa and Scotland in round-robin format.

England Hockey performance director Danny Kerry has temporarily stepped in to take charge of the squad for what will be the first event at hockey’s legacy stadium, and for the Commonwealth Games.

England open tomorrow with a game against Wales (1.15pm), before South Africa provide the opposition on Thursday (also 1.15pm).

Friday is a rest day, before England then tackle Scotland on Saturday (5.15pm).

Third and fourth-placed play-offs take place on Sunday morning, with both the men’s and women’s finals being played later in the day.
