CROMPTON House were crowned overall winners following another exciting programme of field events at the Oldham Schools’ Athletics Championships.
Crompton House won three year group competitions, two in the girls’ event and one in the boys.
In the boys’ events, they won the Year Sevens age group after seeing off runners-up Newman.
Saddleworth triumphed in the Year Eight age group, with their 21-point haul bettering that of Crompton House by just one.
Radclyffe won the boys’ Year Nine and 10 competitions.
Waterhead and Saddleworth were tied for second place in the Year Nine age group.
In the girls’ events, Crompton House and Newman both triumphed in two year groups each.
Crompton House racked up 21 points to beat Newman (17) into second place in the Year Sevens competition, while the Year Nine team scored 25 points in edging Hulme (17) into the runners-up spot.
The Year Eights competition saw Newman triumphant, as their 19-point tally was enough to see off the challenge of North Chadderton, who scored 14.
In the Year 10s age group, Newman’s 23 points were enough to deny Crompton House (18).
