Delph hit back in style

DELPH bounced back from an indifferent run of Drakes Huddersfield League Premiership form in spectacular style.
Grant Jones's men had slid down the table following a recent run of defeats but, travelling to third-placed Scholes, Delph roared to a 164-run victory.
Batting first, Delph racked up a quite superb 308 for eight as Greg Buckley hit 84, Lancashire ace Arron Lilley 82, and the in-form Andy Gleave 45.
In reply, the high-flying hosts never got going and tumbled to a meagre 144 all out.
Craig Fletcher was the tormentor-in-chief with five for 41.
WOODHOUSES hung on for a point in a tense Greene King Lancashire County League clash at home to Prestwich.
The visitors took first knock at Belfields and batted well to score 221 for nine.
Neil Tong took six wickets for Woodhouses at a cost of 101 runs.
In reply, the hosts were always just behind the required run-rate, but the last pair managed to guide Woodhouses to 188 for nine.
Woodhouses have dropped to sixth place in the standings after picking up just that one point from their last two matches.
