THREE Manchester Thunder and Oldham netball stars are hoping to make their mark at the Commonwealth Games in Glasgow as the competition gets under way in earnest today.
Shooter Helen Housby and mid-court duo Sara Bayman and Jade Clarke have all been selected in Team England’s 12-strong squad.
They get their quest for golden glory under way tomorrow with a pool fixture against Wales.
The Commonwealth Games showpiece continues an extraordinary year so far for 19-year-old Housby, the youngest member of the England squad.
The attacking talent, who featured in Thunder’s dream Superleague triumph at the end of last season, said: “It would be such an honour to represent England on a big stage like this.
“If I get the opportunity to play against Wales I’ll definitely take it.”
