Simon North (Norden) goes for runs
NORDEN won the 2014 Lees Brewery Wood Cup yesterday as they beat Littleborough by just five runs at Werneth Cricket Club.
In front of a disappointingly low crowd, the eventual champions batted first and scored 227 for eight, with Simon Harmon top-scoring with 100.
Littleborough, despite a superb 116 from Chris Schofield, could only reach 222 for six in their reply.
Norden’s Simon North won the man-of-the-match award thanks to his knock of 45 and tidy bowling figures of three for 28.
Harmon won the man-of-the-series prize after he had amassed 352 runs during this year’s competition.
