GREENFIELD have won the Saddleworth and District Cricket League under-13s title after remaining unbeaten throughout their 2014 season.

The Ladhill Lane outfit are also through to the Philip Whitehead Cup final.

Uppermill were the surprise team of the season.

After years battling away at the wrong end of the table, their defeat of Heyside in the final game of this season meant they finished finished second after suffering just one defeat.

Stayley finished third. In their final game, five players retired after scoring 30 (Benjamin Fox, Lewis Slater, Daniel Tootal, Joshua Healey and Cameron Biddle).

Their total of 168 was too much for Austerlands, who closed on 57.

Fourth-placed Whalley Range finished by beating Saddleworth, scoring 120 for four after their opponents were all out for 60.

Royton and Glodwick enjoyed a high-scoring match.

Royton posted 119 and Glodwick replied with 102 (Ash Rigby 30).

Glodwick Mousemen posted 170 against Micklehurst, who replied with 68 for three.
