Josh Broadway break clear for Saddleworth ‘A’ against St Helens Boars
RUGBY LEAGUE
SADDLEWORTH Rangers ‘A’ secured a precious 56-26 victory against St Helens Wild Boars in the North-West Men’s League Division One.
The third victory of the season lifted Rangers up a place in the table, above Bamber Bridge and Leigh East ‘A’.
Rangers travel to mid-table Spring View this weekend.
Fitton Hill went down 26-10 at home against Pilkington Recs ‘A’ in Division Three.
Meanwhile, a serious neck injury to Oldham St Anne’s ‘A’ full-back Ryan O’Donnell caused the abandonment of their Division Two game at Rochdale Mayfield ‘A’.
Thankfully, the 28-year-old’s injury wasn’t quite as bad as first feared.
St Anne’s club secretary Barbara Henderson said: “Ryan received some excellent medical attention at the scene so really, it could have been worse.
“It happened in an innoculous-looking tackle.
“He’s chipped neck bones and will have a brace on for a few weeks, but he’s doing well and is expected to make a full recovery.”
