ANGLING
TOWNHOUSE fished well for the Todmorden AS members-only match, with three weights over 50lb and just four ounces separating the top three.
Top of the tree was Danny Keegan with his pole and pellet tactic working well as he weighed in 50lb 13oz of carp.
Chris Lett must have thought he had won the match, but instead had to settle for second with his pole and pellet also catching him plenty of carp that together weighed 50lb 11oz.
Pete Mottram was the other angler topping 50lb, with pole and worm tempting 50lb 9oz of carp.
The next Todmorden AS members match is on Sunday, August 17, at Croft.
THERE were some good weights in the Twingates OAP match on club water, with winner George White tipping 29lb 8oz of skimmers and ide onto the scales.
Long pole and maggot did the majority of the damage.
Rod Illing filled second place with carp, ide and roach making a 24lb 1oz net.
He was followed by Tommy Smith’s three carp that tipped the scales at 14lb 2oz.
Geoff Carr was fourth on the day with 13lb 12oz of carp, ide and skimmers.
Dave Ireland (Tight Lines) continued his good run with another win in the Twingate AC evening series on the club water, with chopped worm and caster spread shallow again the successful method.
That caught him 16lb 8oz of ide, roach and skimmers.
