Royton enjoy a Good derby day

ROYTON plunged neighbours Werneth deep into Lake Garage CLL Premier Division relegation strife when they won a nailbiting clash at the Paddock by two wickets.
Visitors Werneth were skittled for only 83 after taking first guard, Adam Good collecting five for 32.
But Royton almost botched a simple task, losing eight wickets before staggering over the winning line. Joe Taylor took five for 39.
Championship action saw in-form Crompton steamroller Oldham by 198 runs. Skipper Simon Wright hit an unbeaten 73 and Mel Austin 58 as Crompton batted first and made 245 for seven. Mohammed Bashir took four for 93.
In reply, Oldham were blasted out for a paltry 47, the prolific Carl Taylor picking up five for 20.
CROMPTON maintained their promotion push thanks to yesterday’s victory at Milnrow.
The hosts made 158 for seven, deputy pro Saeed Anwar taking three for 44.
After rain, Crompton were set a revised target of 140, reached for the.loss of six wickets.
Also in the Championship, Oldham lost by 10 wickets at home to Unsworth, who bowled out their hosts for 67, Jack O’Brien taking five for 28 and pro Chris Williams four for 28. In reply, Jon Wiggans made an unbeaten 49 in Unsworth’s 71 without loss.
Royton's match at Walsden in the Premier division was called off with the hosts 26 for one in reply to Royton’s 115 all out.
And Werneth’s home game against Clifton was abandoned without a ball being bowled.
