Opening day derby stalemate

FOOTBALL:
ALL three local FBT Manchester League Premier Division clubs opened their 2014-15 campaigns with draws.
Avro and Springhead played one another, drawing an exciting derby clash 3-3 at the Lancaster Club.
Royton Town were held 1-1 by Manchester Gregorians.
There were big opening-day wins all round for the First Division clubs. Uppermill led the way with a 7-1 victory at Breightmet, while Chadderton’s reserves won 5-0 at Pennington and Hollinwood 3-1 at Heywood St James.
Royton Town’s reserves won 5-3 in their Division Two derby match at Springhead.
There was a fine start for Failsworth Dynamos in the Lancashire Amateur League Premier Division.
Dynamos opened their campaign with a deserved 3-1 victory at Horwich Victoria.
In Division One, Oldham Hulmeians thumped Wardle 8-3, while Chaddertonians were held 2-2 at home by Blackrod.
