RAIN stopped play: league official Brian Cutler at Austerlands
CRICKET:
UMPIRE Brian Cutler looked to the heavens at a damp Austerlands Cricket Club yesterday.
Twenty20 finals’ day in the Saddleworth and District Cricket League was abandoned without play due to rain.
Uppermill and Saddleworth were due to start at 10.30am, followed by the other last-four clash between Heyside and Glodwick at 1.30pm. The final was expected to start at 4.30pm.
The only remaining free date before the end of the season is September 13, but no decision has been made.
