Non-league football: PETER Band and Lloyd Morrison are set to move into the transfer market in a bid to revitalise their ailing Mossley squad.
Joint-manager Band promised action as the injury-riddled Lilywhites try to recover from the major blow in midweek in losing their FA Cup replay at home against Burscough.
After pocketing a hard-earned draw at Victoria Park on Saturday, Mossley were stunned 2-1 by Burscough at home.
“Tuesday was a big disappointment,” admitted Band. “Once again we should have had the game dead and buried after we had taken the lead, but injuries are hurting us.
“We lost another three lads against Burscough: Charlie Anderson, Andy Keogh and Ryan Barrow. We’ve made contact with two or three potential players already, but I can’t say who. We need to freshen things up.”
Mossley will be desperate to bounce back as they return to Evo-Stik League Division One North action with a home clash against mid-table Lancaster City tomorrow.
CHADDERTON need a pick-me-up as they head to new team Barnton in the North-West Counties League First Division.
Chaddy had enjoyed a fine start until last weekend, when they were humbled 6-1 at home by fellow high-fliers AFC Darwen.
OLDHAM BORO could also use a win boost as they have conceded five goals in three of their four previous matches. Tony Mills’ side play on Sunday, when they host divisional rivals 1874 Northwich at Seel Park in the FA Carlsberg Vase (kick-off 2pm).
