RUGBY: WATERHEAD remain second-bottom in Division Two, but they gave as good as they got before finally succumbing to a 58-24 loss against promotion hopefuls Elland at Peach Road.
The hosts trailed 22-0 after 25 minutes, at which point Keiron Brown touched down and Jamie Mayall kicked the goal.
Elland powered further ahead with a three-try burst with two conversions, but Waterhead replied with three tries and conversions of their own, making the score 36-24. Elland regrouped and notched four unanswered tries to take the game out of Waterhead’s reach.
