Water polo: KATY Andrew is helping to fly the flag for Great Britain’s water polo team in the Under-19s European Championships in Rome this week.
The 17-year-old Greenfield teenager faces group games against tournament favourites Greece, plus Slovakia and Portugal. A top-two finish will seal a place in the knock-out stages, from which the qualifiers go all out for Euro glory.
The tournament continues i a play-off series for teams which don’t get through.
Katy, who attends Manchester High School for Girls and plays for City of Manchester, has already represented GB in the Under-17s Euros in Turkey, 12 months ago. She played for the seniors in a World League fixture earlier this season.
Dad Richard said: “Katy has become a regular and, looking ahead, she has the 2020 Olympics in Japan as a target.”
