Ellis and Gillies target last 16

BOWLS: NIMBLE Nook pair Gary Ellis and Matt Gillies were today bidding to reach the last 16 of the Waterloo Bowling Handicap in Blackpool.

Ellis, chasing a fifth Waterloo title, reached finals week with a 21-18 defeat of Spring Waterloo champion Greg Smith (Birmingham), while Gillies overcame

N Dolan (Warrington) 21-10.

A third Nook player, Steve Mellor, lost 21-10 to Macclesfield’s Dave Jackson in the last 64.
