Non-league football: MOSSLEY joint-bosses Peter Band and Lloyd Morrison have strengthened their squad to build on an encouraging start to the season.
Last weekend’s 3-2 victory at Kendal Town lifted Lilywhites into eighth place. But ahead of tomorrow’s tough visit to third-place Farsley, Band and Morrison have drafted in four newcomers.
Former Curzon Ashton winger Matty Purcell and fellow wide-man Adam Parkhouse a former Stalybridge Celtic prospect, have joined the side, while.centre-back Dom Barrett has been drafted from FC United and Jordan Jacobs from Rochdale. Midfielder Kevin McGrath has left the club.
Band said: “It will be a good test for us at Farsley. They’ve been going really so far this season, so it’ll give us an idea of just how far we’ve come.”
CHADDERTON are going through a rough spell, having lost their last five matches.
Following a midweek 8-0 thumping by Hyde in the Manchester Premier Cup, Chadderton have scored only once and conceded 19 goals. Tomorrow they are in Men United Cup action — formerly the First Division Trophy — as they travel to Ashton Town for a first-round tie.
OLDHAM BORO are without a fixture this weekend.
