Howard has last laugh for Oldham

HOCKEY:
TWO-GOAL Louise Howard struck a late equaliser as Oldham firsts earned a 2-2 draw with Urmston in Division Two South-West.
The local outfit fell behind twice, but each time fought back.
Urmston capitalised on Oldham’s defensive frailties to go in front, only for Howard to equalise in the 25th minute.
’Keeper Sarah Simpson kept Urmston at bay in the early stages of the second half with some excellent saves. However, she could not prevent her side going behind again.
Refusing to throw in the towel and with Rachel Johnson outstanding, Oldham raised their game, dominating possession and doing everything right - apart from score. Then Howard fired home from a penalty corner with only 40 seconds remaining.
