SNOOKER:

HIGH Crompton and Royton Band Club shared the spoils in a tit-for-tat Oldham Amateur Snooker League clash.

Colin Hopkinson was the star of the show for Band as he drew first blood with a break of 31.

B Handley claimed frame two for the hosts, only for B Gledhill to re-establish the visitors’ lead.

The match was all-square again, though, after frame four with J Keating pocketing the spoils for High Crompton.

It meant there was everything to play for in the final frame. Alan Hopkinson emerged victorious for Band, but opponent J Harland just did enough to claim the aggregate for Crompton.

Leaders North Chadd ‘A’ were again impressive as they swept aside reigning champions Three Cs ‘A’.

A break of 41 from Danny Balcerzak in frame three helped North Chadd ‘B’ to a 5-1 triumph at Three Cs ‘B’. R Cahill, with victory in the last frame, avoided the whitewash.

In the cards section, North Chadd ‘B’ continue to set the pace, from Royton Band Club in second place.

REIGNING champions Tara ‘A’ cruised to a 6-0 win over Comrades ‘B’ in the Saw-Tech Shaw League.

Tara ‘B’ also registered a whitewash victory, at Queen Street, and enjoyed a 5-1 success over Comrades ‘A’.
